Designer wedding dresses to say "yes" to in 2019 - MLive.com

Haley Krommendyk models an ivory Mori Lee designer bridal gown from Caela Scott Bridal & Formalwear on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, MI.

Ellie Newsome and her fiance Zack Salvail got engaged last December, just a couple days before Christmas. Her search for the perfect dress began Saturday afternoon, at the Winter Bridal Show of West Michigan.

"Something long and flowy, nothing overly detailed," Newsome decides. "Just simple."

Justeen Madalinski and her fiance Chris Haring also recently got engaged, but Justeen has been searching for a dress for several months.

"Just dreaming," she laughs.

Elaine Page-Buck, owner of Caela Scott Bridal & Formalwear Boutique in Holland, says color is in for 2019.

"In 2019, we're seeing a lot more colors, blush, champagne, mocha, a lot of the nude tones," says Elaine.

Another trend the boutique is seeing this year are sheer tops. Some are see-through but come with a lining to wear during the ceremony that can be removed for the reception.

Page-Buck showcased bridal and bridesmaid's gowns from her boutique made by designers Mori Lee, Bonny and Bill Levkoff in a fashion show at the 2019 Winter Bridal Show of West Michigan. The annual wedding expo was Jan. 4-5 at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, MI.

Here are some of this year's trends in bridal and bridesmaid's gowns.
